Sarah Downer is a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with nearly two decades of healthcare experience, beginning her medical career in 2008. She spent 10 years working in the emergency department, where she developed strong clinical judgment, critical thinking skills, and the ability to provide compassionate care in fast-paced, high-acuity environments.
Following her emergency medicine experience, Sarah transitioned into family practice from 2018 to 2020, where she focused on preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and patient-centered primary care. Since 2020, she has specialized in obstetrics and gynecology, providing comprehensive women’s healthcare across the lifespan.
Sarah’s OB/GYN experience includes fertility management, prenatal and postpartum care, routine gynecologic exams, contraceptive counseling, menopause management, STI screening and treatment, and management of common gynecologic conditions. She is passionate about supporting women through every stage of life, from adolescence through menopause, while emphasizing education, prevention, and individualized care plans. She is committed to creating a compassionate and supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their healthcare decisions.
In addition to her clinical practice, Sarah has served as a dedicated preceptor for Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant students, mentoring future healthcare providers and supporting their clinical and professional development.
Sarah earned her undergraduate degree from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and completed her Nurse Practitioner degree at Chamberlain University, graduating in 2018. She is known for her strong clinical background, compassionate bedside manner, and dedication to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.
