Meet Our OB/GYNs
Dr. Jones completed her BS in chemistry at Pembroke University in North Carolina. She graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 1987 and completed her residency program at George Washington University in 1991. She is married with four children to whom she is devoted. Her special interests include managing pregnant patients, urinary incontinence, laparoscopic assisted hysterectomy, vaginal hysterectomy and pelvic support issues. She is also interested in infertility and menopausal issues.
Dr. Anita Silva, born and raised in central Pennsylvania, graduated from Penn State University followed by Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. She completed her residency at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois and worked on staff at Washington University in St. Louis followed by Multicare Health Systems in Tacoma, WA. Along with her husband, Andy, a pediatric otolaryngologist, she moved to Northern Virginia in 2000 and has practiced in Leesburg, Virginia since 2002.
Dr. Silva emphasizes holistic women’s health care, providing services for women of all ages. In addition to comprehensive office consultations and well woman appointments, Dr. Silva offers surgical and medical options for contraception, heavy bleeding, endometriosis and uterine fibroids/polyps. In addition, Dr. Silva has a large teenage population and addresses specific needs such as contraception, regulation of periods and prevention of sexual transmitted infections. Dr. Silva and her husband have two children in college, and she enjoys outdoor activities, watching football (Go Steelers!) and reading in her spare time.
Janie Villarin, N.P.
Janie Villarin is an experienced family nurse practitioner focused on the overall health and wellness of ob/gyn patients by providing up-to-date and excellent care. Ms. Villarin received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia in 1999. While working as a registered nurse in labor & delivery, postpartum, antepartum and infertility, she attended Georgetown University and received her Masters in Nursing in 2004 to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.
She is Board Certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Ms. Villarin is fluent in Spanish and Tagalog (Filipino) in a medical setting. Before joining private practice, she worked for the National Health Service Corps in underserved communities. Her passion for women’s health shows in the thorough care she gives at each visit. Outside of the clinic, Ms. Villarin enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her husband and three children.
Carol Glismann, WHNP
Carol Glismann, WHNP has spent most of her 30 plus years of nursing in Women’s Health. After working as a labor and delivery nurse for many years she went on to complete her Master of Nursing degree Perinatal/Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program) in 2007 from Stony Brook University. Carol maintains Board Certification through the Virginia Board of Nursing and the National Certification Corporation. Carol is responsible for obtaining a thorough medical, social, and mental history, performing annual exams including pap smears and other health screenings, ordering labs and diagnostic imaging, management of sexually transmitted diseases, inserting IUD’s and Nexplanon, birth control counseling and family planning, discussing and treating perimenopause and menopause, interpreting results and informing patients of results. She provides prenatal and postnatal care for normal pregnancies, preconception counseling, and basic fertility work up. She provides obstetric and gynecologic care to women from adolescence to menopause.
Carol feels some of her best attribute include being a good listener, compassionate to her patients. Her goal is to provide all patients with personalized high-quality health care in a supportive setting. Carol is married and has two grown sons. She enjoys spending time with family, cooking, gardening and spending time outdoors.
